How To Connect MySQL Database

 How  to create   report    in pentaho   from exiting   MySQL  datatables .
step 1.   Log  in pentaho .
setp2.   From  Home  select   create new ->   data source -> put name datademo   , select  reporting and analysis  and  click next

step 3-  select    one  table  from  the  table  to another box.  select  fact  table.  Then finish .

step 4 -  Now  create new  - intractive report ->then select datademo  then  ok .

strp5-  Now  all data fileld   you can see then drag and drop  to  create report  then save .

 

How to  connect MySQL  with  pentaho .
Sep1-  Download  pentaho BA   server . http://www.pentaho.com/download.
step2- Insure   installed   Java version 7 in your system.
step3- Installed   MYSQL     and   set   user name and password .
step4- download  mysql-connector-java-5.1.13-bin.jar  file .
step5-Open   Pentaho installed  directory  -> server-> bi-server->tomcat -> lib   and paste mysql connector file file .
step 6-Open  Pentho  installed directory ->  design-tools -> report-designer ->lib and paste
           mysql  connector  jar file .you can paste this jar to   pentaho ->java-> lib directory.
step7- Log  pentaho    ->create  new ->   Datasource ->   select    database tables

step 8- click on    add   button  .  Then   fill  connection  data  and user name password .
 

step9-  Test  connection .
 

                     
setp10 -  click  ok   you  connected with  MYSQL database .   Now  you  can access  the data table of  schema   you selected.
